"When you walk the beauty way you can do no wrong" - Silverbird
Sanctuary meets at 10am St. Kevin's Church Hall Bangalow, every Sunday.
We sing spiritual songs and chants in harmonies and no experience in
singing is required. Everyone is welcome. Different folk lead each week,
on different spiritual themes.
We have readings from inspirational
sources, meditation, prayer and sacred space, followed by communion at
the local coffee shop, or a picnic outside in the beautiful park.
Songs and chants to uplift the Spirit.
"The beauty and simplicity of these haunting melodies touch into a
wellspring of joy." Trish Watts
How Heartsongs came to be:
One of the founders of the Sanctuary group, music teacher, choir leader and celebrant, Alison Mackay, was inspired to write her own songs for the group.
These 'Heartsongs' have quickly become favourites
with the Sanctuary congregation, so Alison recorded the CD and produced a booklet with arrangements of the songs so they could easily
be sung along with at home.
On this CD she is accompanied by David Hall, and the musical accompaniment of piano, guitar, flute and harp.
To order the CD ($20) and booklet ($8) or both for $25, email Alison on
alison.mackay@_REMOVETHISPART_gmail.com.
Alison also facilitates women's full moon gatherings and workshops in Soul Collage.

The Dances
are simple circle dances where we sing songs from the many Spiritual
traditions , both joyful and meditative, invoking the different Divine
qualities that result in an enriched life, peace and healing .
They
were formerly known as Sufi Dances, and are an international movement
dedicated to Peace through the Arts .
No experience is necessary! The only requirements are an
open heart and open hands, and the desire to connect with others as if
they were a reflection of the Divine.
About the Mentor Teachers Guild and Dance Leader Certification
Anna, also known as Zebunissa in the Sufi Circles, is a member of the MTG, the Mentor Teacher's Guild of the International Network for the Dances.
Any transmission of the sacred has always been achieved, throughout human history, in a person-to-person relationship, a living existence regardless of organizations and institutions. The Mentor Teachers Guild has assumed the task of assisting in the building of these relationships, thereby nurturing the growth of the Dances for future generations.
Dance Leader Certification is a matter of validating the growth process of Dance and Walk leaders. Certification is part of the process by which the Dances of Universal Peace and Walks are kept alive for future generations. The Abwoon study group
shares the research of Dr. Neil Douglas-Klotz on Middle Eastern spirituality and peacemaking, including work on the Aramaic Words of Jesus, Hebrew and Native Middle Eastern creation mysticism and Sufism.
Sufi study Group The Sufi Study group studies the work of Indian mystic Hazrat Inayat Khan of the Chisti lineage. We read the gathas, do sufi practices which include the wazaif -the practice of the names of God, breathwork, meditation , prayer, zikr - or remembrance, Healing Services and Universal Worship.
Our aim is to develop our inner spiritual nature, to awaken our hearts, to be filled with light and to become channels for the love , the Light and the Life of the Divine Presence, the Beloved, so that our lives may become a source of inspiration, creativity and compassion.
Sufism is a path of self-transformation.
Thursdays and Fridays - This is led by Father Russell , at All Soul's Church, Ashton St, Bangalow at 10 am both Thursday and Friday mornings.
Father Russell is an Anglican minister whose spiritual path has included the teachings of Pramamhansa Yogananda and the Kriya yoga practices. This is a guided meditation through the chakras, with beautiful music that is based on prana (the psychic breath force or God) as an experience of bliss and love, which fills us with positivity, joy and lightness of being.
